These Candle stick holders are made from Laminated Black Walnut that was harvested some years ago in Salem Oregon. the piece of wood I used had both Heart and Sap wood in it.  This gives a considerable color variation throughout the part. It turned out better than I had hoped.

The top and bottom pieces are hand turned on my regular lathe to fit over the tenons turned on my Artisan.

Flame Finials, Black Walnut with brass inserts. Hand written code. An interesting project. I designed these to go on top of a pair lamps I am working on. When they are finished I will post them.

3.5 inches long x 1.25 in Dia. .375 Spiral cuts over 90 deg. rotation One base is 1.0 in dia the other is 1.25. I think I like the larger  dia best. In the process of making some out of cherry.

This is a copy of the finial with the 1.0 dia Base. From a drawing like this you can develope the code to cut the part.

Since I had the Finials it was only reasonable to make some lamps to go with them. They are black walnut and stand 22 inches high without the harp for the shade. These are not the best pictures but they are all I have. The lamps sold the day after I finished them so more picture won't happen.

I made a pair of these with the spiral running in opposite directions. The material is black walnut. They didn't even make to the Gallery. My dentist bought them for his wifes birthday.
